We are preparing for the fall and winter seasons. Please prepare to remove your boats from Robinson Pond before or by October 21st when we will begin to lower the lake to the top of the spillway, our normal winter level.
If you have a boat stored at one of our boat launch areas, please remove it by November 30th. No boats may be stored in the boat launches from December 1st through May 14th.
Any boats remaining in the boat launch area after November 30th will be picked up by Maintenance and put in an outdoor lockup. The boat storage and retrieval fee is $250 per boat. An announcement will be made in the Spring as to when a boat may be retrieved. Boats without a TSPOA registration tag may be put up for auction unless a owner can prove its ownership prior to the appointed retrieval date. If ownership is verified and the $250 per boat retrieval fee is paid, then the boat may be picked up at the appointed time.

It seems a number of political signs have gone up throughout the community. Just a reminder of our rules on this. Political campaign signs may be posted 30 days prior to the applicable election and must be removed no more than two weeks following the election. Will you kindly take the political signs down until the appropriate window for display is upon us.

8/18/2021 8:06 AM - Dear members:
Taconic Shores has contracted with Jim McNamee of Northeast Aquatic Weed Harvesting LLC, to remove cattails in the northeast section of the lake. Our plan to remove nuisance vegetation for better access to the lake for homeowners was drafted by our Lake Manager (NEAR) and approved by DEC.
This work is scheduled to begin Tuesday September 7th and will last two to three weeks but could be extended due to the weather. We urge members and their guests to stay clear of the two work boats and to report any complaints or concerns directly to the office. It is very important that this work is performed efficiently, as we have contracted for a certain number of days and hope to get as many nuisance cattails removed as possible from the navigation channel.
8/18/2021 7:50 AM - October of 2020 TSPOA hired a lake manager, Northeast Aquatic Research (NEAR). In January of 2021, NEAR submitted an Action Plan to TSPOA for the monitoring and management of the cattail growth that appeared in the north/northeastern section of Robinson Pond during the extended drawdown in 2020. The full action plan can be found on the TSPOA website at http://bit.ly/LakeActionPlan2021. Since then, the TSPOA Board, Lake Committee, and Maintenance Staff have been coordinating with NEAR in executing this plan. The TSPOA Communications Committee sat down for a conversation with TSPOA Lake Committee Chair Lois Lovisolo to get an update about progress on the action plan and related lake matters. We spoke to a few other board members and staff to confirm some details, and the result is this first in a series of TSPOA Briefings about the lake.
Summary of changes adopted by the board at their meeting of May 21st, 2021, concerning Rule V USE OF THE LAKE and Rule XIV RENTALS, appear below. The full reading of each rule may be found in the TSPOA Governing Documents found on the Documents and Forms page of our website.
Rule V was changed to require a TSPOA boat registration to be affixed to both sides of the bow or front of the boat. Registered boats may contact the office to either acquire the matching registration sticker or receive two new matching stickers. Additionally, the retrieval fee for boats left in boat launches after November 1st has been raised to $250.00.
The purpose behind the Rule V change was to provide for easier identification of registered boats while on the water. The fee increase is to discourage members from leaving boats in the boat launches and to more adequately cover the maintenance cost to pick up the boats and transport them to the maintenance outdoor lock up along with the loss labor to reacquaint owners and boats.
Rule XIV was changed to require members who rent (landlords), to prominently include the web address for the TSPOA Rules for Renters in their listing, advertisement or offer to rent their property. Additionally, the annual administrative fee of $100 will apply to landlords who rent for a period of one year or longer and $200 will apply to landlords who rent for periods less than one year. Each landlord must sign the TSPOA Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement for Rental of Homeowners(s) Property and submit a copy to the office. These changes have also been updated on the Member Rental Property Registration Form.
The purpose behind the Rule XIV change is to help those seeking to rent within Taconic Shores be aware of the TSPOA rules before booking their rental. The increase in the annual administrative fee is help offset the cost of recording and tracking short-term rental agreements.
5/19/2021 8:30 AM - It's that time of year again. Please remember to maintain your property. Yards and lawns should be maintained in a neat and orderly manner. Grass or weeds are not supposed to be over eight inches high.
Please see the full rule on the highlighted rule section of the website or in the Governing Documents.
5/ 4/2021 12:47:34 PM - Due to power issues affecting the pump house yesterday, we experienced a sudden drop in pressure. Some residents experienced the brown discoloration in the water that we see from time to time.
Brown Water occurs from fluctuations in water pressure allowing some minerals on the inside of the pipes to be seen in the water.
Please continue to run your outside hose faucet until the water is clear and rinse out water filtration system filters. Your filters may need to be replaced.
