Robinson Pond, lovingly known as "the lake" by residents of Taconic Shores Property Owners Association (TSPOA) in Copake, New York, is the community's most prized asset. This serene body of water is part of the Roe Jan Kill, which feeds into the Hudson River, making it an important resource for wildlife and biodiversity in the region.
TSPOA takes its stewardship of Robinson Pond seriously, working closely with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) to ensure the lake is cared for safely and in compliance with regulations, while also protecting it from invasive species. The lake is home to a variety of fish, turtles, and attracts an array of avian visitors, including bald eagles, blue herons, egrets, geese, and ducks. Even loons stop by during their spring migration.
TSPOA residents enjoy seasonal recreational activities on the lake, such as fishing, swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. The pond is a true gem in Taconic Shores, cherished by the community for its natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
